NanoOpto Receives ISO 9001:2000 Registration

This is the first nanofabrication facility of its kind to receive ISO 9001:2000 registration.

Somerset, New Jersey, January 23, 2003. NanoOpto Corp., which is applying proprietary nano-patterning and nano-manufacturing technologies to design and manufacture optical components for systems and networks, announces it has received ISO 9001:2000 registration for its Quality Management System from American Systems Registrar, LLC. The scope of this registration includes the design, development, and manufacturing of optical components and integrated optical sub-assemblies. In order to receive this registration, companies must demonstrate adherence to a comprehensive range of standards, including quality systems, design control, purchaser satisfaction, management responsibility, inspection and testing, handling and delivery, training, and service.

This registration demonstrates NanoOpto’s commitment to continually improving quality and service, and to meeting or exceeding customers’ expectations at every level. “ISO registration is an important step in our commercialization of this exciting new technology,” said Alex McCann, Vice President of Manufacturing and Operations. “Our manufacturing facility in Somerset, NJ uses a unique, state-of-the-art nano-fabrication process and is the first of its kind to achieve ISO registration.”

NanoOpto has been shipping production samples of nano-optics since June 2002. The addition of an ISO registered quality management system provides important assurances that NanoOpto’s customers’ expectations of supplier quality will be met.
